The Native Women’s Association of Canada ( NWAC), founded in 1974, is an aggregate of thirteen Native women’s organizations from across the country. Their collective goal is to enhance, promote, and foster the social, economic, cultural and political well-being of First Nations and Métis women, their family and community. The NWAC represents Native women of Canada regarding multiple issues, of which that of the disappeared or murdered Aboriginal women and girls.

Le Chaînon, founded in Montréal in 1932, has the mission of welcoming all women in difficulty without discrimination, offering them safe accommodations and personalized support that is tailored to their needs, in order for them to regain their personal and social power. In addition, this organization positions itself against gender inequalities: “Our goal is to promote the defense of women’s rights – with women.”

HeforShe is a UNWomen initiative, launched in September 2014 to promote equality between men and women. Based on the idea that this should be a human objective and thus common to all, the project makes a point to include men in the process of resolving this issue. This global campaign encourages everyone to take action against everyday inequalities. The initiatives taken by the organization and its members are reflected in the fields of education, health, identity, workplace, violence and politics.
